چکیده

We survey the current state of models for electronic processes in conducting polymer devices, especially light-emitting diodes (LEDs). We pay special attention to several processes that have been somewhat neglected in the previous literature: charge injection from electrodes into a polymer sample, mobility of chargeor energy-carrying defects within a single molecule, and (more briefly) transfer of carriers between molecules and the interaction between the charge transport and the mesostructure of the polymer. Within all these areas substantial progress has been made in recent years in elucidating the important physics, but further progress is needed to make quantitative contact with experiment. Room to Improve Conjugated Polymer-Based Solar Cells: Understanding How Thermal Annealing Affects the Fullerene Component of a Bulk Heterojunction Photovoltaic Device

We examine how thermal annealing affects the fullerene network in conjugated polymer bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells. We begin by creating electron-only devices with a BHJ geometry by blending the fullerene derivative [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric-acid-methyl-ester (PCBM) with polystyrene (PS). These electron-only PS:PCBM diodes function even with a poly(ethylenedioxithiophene):poly(styrenesul...

Ordered and ultrathin reduced graphene oxide LB films as hole injection layers for organic light-emitting diode

In this paper, we demonstrated the utilization of reduced graphene oxide (RGO) Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films as high performance hole injection layer in organic light-emitting diode (OLED). By using LB technique, the well-ordered and thickness-controlled RGO sheets are incorporated between the organic active layer and the transparent conducting indium tin oxide (ITO), leading to an increase of r...

The electrochemistry of neurotransmitters at conducting organic polymer electrodes: electrocatalysis and analytical applications

The electrooxidation of catechols, catecholamines and NADH at conventional electrode materials is generally characterized by high degrees of irreversibility as well as strong adsorption and, hence, fouling by reactants and/or products of the reactions. On the contrary, the rates of the electron transfer are highly catalysed by the use of conducting polymer films, such as poly(3-methylthiophene)...

Synthesis and characterization of Polyvinyl Alcohol-Polypyrrole-Silver nanocomposite polymer films

The present paper describes the preparation and characterization of Polyvinyl Alcohol-Polypyrrole-Silver Nanocomposite (PVA-PPy-Ag NC) films. The prepared films were conducting, freestanding, flexible, and robust. Silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) were synthesized from an aqueous solution of silver nitrate using trisodium citrate as a reductant. The casting solution for the films was prepared by in...

AN EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF GRAVITY DRAINAGE DURING IMMISCIBLE GAS INJECTION IN CARBONATE ROCKS UNDER RESERVOIR CONDITIONS

Gravity drainage is one of the important recovery mechanisms in fractured carbonate and conventional reservoirs. It occurs due to density difference between the gas in fracture and the oil in matrix as well as in conventional tilted reservoirs. Oil phase will form films which are produced under gravity forces (film flow). Many gas injection experiments have been done on laboratory scales with d...
